HBO y Apple Plus están encabezando las nominaciones a los Emmy 2022 con series como Succession, Ted Lasso y The White Lotus.
Los días de Netflix en el reinado quedaron atrás, esta vez son las cadenas HBO y Apple Plus las que se colocaron la corona de nominaciones en los Emmy 2022, y no podríamos estar más de acuerdo con lo que estamos viendo en competencia.
Succession lleva años demostrando ser la serie mejor escrita en televisión, Ted Lasso tiene un encanto sin igual contra el cual es difícil competir, y White Lotus salió de la nada con un poderoso mensaje sobre el privilegio normalizado, con actuaciones preciosas, y hasta una musicalización de aplauso. Hacks, en comedia, sin duda es una de las favoritas al premio, y Severance es probablemente el texto más ingenioso sci-fi que se nos ha regalado en décadas.
Claro que Better Call Saul, El Juego del Calamar, Stranger Things u Ozark de Netflix no se quedan atrás, pero es bueno ver que Showtime (aquí Prime) logró colar Yellowjackets y, obvio, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, FX (aquí Star Plus) da batalla con What We Do In The Shadows y Hulu (aquí también Star Plus) le entra al quite con Only Murders In The Building. Todas sin duda maravillosas.
Ahora, es claro que hay varias que ya perdieron momentum: Killing Eve pasó de ser número uno a prácticamente ignorada, junto con The Great, Atlanta y The Morning Show. Y las que de plano no entendemos cómo no están dominando las nominaciones, pero al Emmy prácticamente se le olvidaron, son Scenes From a Marriage, Yellowstone, Pam & Tommy, Outer Range, The Essex Serpent, The Staircase y Cobra Kai. Todas con actores de Hollywood tremendos que sí merecían un tip of the hat.
Ya ni hablar de las series de género, más allá de Stranger Things, como Peacemaker, Loki, Hawkeye o The Book of Bobba Fett. De ésas ni hablamos.
Y si se están preguntando, ¿dónde está Heartstopper? Ahí fueron los mismos de Netflix los que decidieron no enviarla a competir por el premio mayor, dada la enorme competencia en categoría de drama; y entrará después en Kids and Family, categorías de las cuales no se entera nadie.
